Privacy Policy

How Brandlane collects, uses, and protects personal information on brandlane.org and inside the BuyerMap tool.

Draft. This policy is the current operating policy for brandlane.org. It is honest about what we collect and who we share it with, but it has not yet been reviewed by counsel. If you need a privacy policy stamped by a lawyer for a contract or audit, email info@brandlane.org and we will send the reviewed version once available.

1. Who we are

Brandlane (referred to in this policy as Brandlane, we, us, or our) is a B2B lead generation business operating brandlane.org and related sending domains. For any privacy question you can email info@brandlane.org.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy describes how we handle personal information collected through brandlane.org, including the contact form and the BuyerMap tool. It does not cover paid engagements with Brandlane clients. Those engagements are governed by a separate written agreement and data processing addendum.

3. Information we collect

We only collect what is needed to respond to your enquiry, build a tool you asked for, or keep the website secure.

3.1 Contact form

When you submit the contact form on /contact we collect the name, work email address, company name, optional company website, and message you provide. We also log the IP address of the submitting browser to enforce rate limits and detect abuse.

3.2 BuyerMap tool

When you generate a BuyerMap at /tools/buyer-map we collect the company domain you entered, your optional first name, optional title, optional company name, your IP address, your user agent, and timestamps for tool usage. If the link you opened was generated by Brandlane and includes a lead ID, we associate the report with that lead ID.

3.3 Server and security logs

Like every web service, our hosting provider records request metadata for security, error detection, and performance. This includes IP address, user agent, request path, response code, and timing.

3.4 Product analytics

Inside the BuyerMap tool we record interaction events such as section views, copy clicks, and form submissions. When PostHog is configured for the project we also load PostHog in the BuyerMap tool only. We do not load PostHog or any marketing analytics on the marketing pages of brandlane.org at this time. We do not use advertising cookies anywhere on the site.

4. Why we collect it

  • To respond to your enquiry and decide together if cold email is a fit for your business.
  • To build and deliver the BuyerMap report you requested.
  • To improve the BuyerMap tool by understanding which sections people use.
  • To protect the website against abuse, scraping, and spam.
  • To meet our own legal and accounting obligations.

5. Lawful basis (for EEA and UK visitors)

We rely on your consent when you actively submit a form. We rely on legitimate interests to operate the BuyerMap tool, secure the website, and respond to enquiries. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@brandlane.org.

6. Who processes the data for us

We use the following service providers to operate the website and the BuyerMap tool. Each one only receives the data needed for its function.

  • Vercel (United States) for website hosting and serverless functions.
  • Resend (United States) for transactional email delivery, used to send contact form submissions to info@brandlane.org and to alert us when a new BuyerMap is generated.
  • Supabase (European Union region) for storing BuyerMap reports, share links, and tool analytics events.
  • Anthropic (United States) for generating BuyerMap report content from the company domain you provided.
  • Apify (Czech Republic) for company enrichment and account discovery during BuyerMap generation.
  • Firecrawl (United States) for scraping the public homepage of the company domain you provided.
  • Clearbit (United States) for company logo lookup, only if a Clearbit key is configured.
  • SerpAPI (United States) for public search result lookups during BuyerMap generation, only if a SerpAPI key is configured.
  • PostHog (European Union region) for BuyerMap tool analytics, only when configured.

7. International transfers

Several of the providers above are based in the United States. When personal data is transferred outside the EEA or UK we rely on the providers contractual safeguards, including the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. You can request more detail by emailing info@brandlane.org.

8. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it.

  • Contact form submissions are kept while the conversation is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for follow up and accounting, then deleted on request.
  • BuyerMap reports are cached for sixty minutes for fast reuse and persisted in Supabase so the shareable link continues to work. You can request deletion of a specific report by emailing info@brandlane.org with the report URL.
  • Tool analytics events are retained for up to twelve months and then aggregated or deleted.
  • Security and access logs are retained for up to ninety days.

9. Your rights

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or another jurisdiction that grants similar rights, you can ask us to:

To exercise any of these rights, email info@brandlane.org. We will respond within thirty days. If you believe we have not handled your data correctly, you have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

  • Confirm what personal information we hold about you.
  • Provide a copy of it.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Delete it, subject to any legal retention requirement.
  • Restrict or object to certain uses.
  • Receive it in a portable format and transfer it to another provider.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.

10. Cookies and tracking

The marketing pages of brandlane.org do not set any first party or third party cookies for marketing or tracking. The BuyerMap tool may set technical cookies for rate limiting and session continuity, and (when configured) PostHog cookies inside the tool. We do not use advertising trackers anywhere on the site.

11. Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including HTTPS everywhere, per IP rate limiting on form endpoints, an HMAC signed token gate on the BuyerMap tool, and access controls on backend services. No system on the internet is ever fully secure. If we ever learn of a personal data breach that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify the appropriate authorities and affected individuals as required by law.

12. Children

The Brandlane website and services are intended for business audiences and are not directed at children under sixteen. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website and the BuyerMap tool evolve. The current version is always available at this URL. We will update the date below whenever we make a material change.

14. Contact

For any privacy question, request, or complaint, email info@brandlane.org and we will respond within thirty days.
